The Muscle Shoals Civitan Club organizes and coordinates all activities with the Swampers 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run held each year on the last Saturday in April. We raise thousands of dollars annually to aid local organizations.
Local charities that have benefited from the Muscle Shoals Civitan Club include:
- Colbert Caring Center
- United Cerebral Palsy Center
- Meals on Wheels
- Muscle Shoals Education Foundation
- Alabama Institute for Deaf & Blind
- Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center
The club also sponsors families each year at Christmas and assists students throughout the year with specific needs.
The Muscle Shoals Civitan Club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at noon at Cypress Lakes Country Club on 6th Street in Muscle Shoals.
